Sophia Jones

Sophia Marinkov Jones is an artist and designer based in London. She has been working with RIVA for the last five years, as both a teacher and artist in residence. She has a degree in Architecture from University College London, and recently completed a Masters in Fine Art at the Royal College of Art.

Her work is often inspired by landscapes and natural events. For a residency in 2013 at Hanover school, Sophia designed and built a bee house, incorporating paintings by pupils who attended RIVA's Bee Museum workshop. Her artistic media are diverse, encompassing drawing, painting, video, photography and functional objects and structures. Sophia is also currently working on a series of illustrated children's books, inspired by encounters with various British landscapes.
